JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the general direction of the Director of Surgical Services, the RN Circulator (Surgical Services) will plan and supervise the nursing care administered to meet patient care needs in surgery, provide physicians with optimal services, and deliver perioperative care to surgical patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with TJC, federal, state, and local guidelines, organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Communicates with medical staff, other departments, and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality. The position requires self-motivation, creativity, and capabilities to function in a semi-autonomous role within a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
Minimum Level of
Education:
Education level equivalent to high school completion and a graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
Formal Training: A degree in nursing from an accredited program.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Must have and maintain an unencumbered State of Georgia RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS required. ACLS/PALS is required within 90 days of the date of hire. CNOR Certification is preferred.
Work Experience: Six months to one-year related experience and/or training in an OR setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Schedule: 4 - 10‑hour shifts/week;
Monday - Friday; no scheduled cases on weekends or holidays;
Modified On‑call schedule (Monday through Friday only).
