Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversees daily operations, policies, and procedures and assists with budget development to align with FCH’s healthcare standards and institutional policies.

Supervises the delivery of patient care within an assigned unit/facility and recommends clinical quality improvement efforts.

Monitors safety issues, evaluates service delivery and staff growth, and adheres to FCH’s Code of Conduct.

Assists with managing staffing needs, scheduling and callouts.

Maintains accurate records, and identifies potential problems, proposing corrective actions as needed.

Ensures proper documentation and appropriate care as well as provide emergency treatment on-site and respond appropriately in urgent or emergency situations.

Serves as a liaison and consults with medical providers and recommends treatment protocols to align with FCH’s healthcare standards and institutional policies.

Communicates information to nursing staff, physicians, supervisory personnel or other staff as necessary.

Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.

Assists with onsite trainings, evaluations and monthly staff meetings.

Performs other duties as assigned to support FCH’s goals, objectives and values.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies

Knowledge and expertise in public health, and the diagnosis and treatment of individuals.

Strong background in acute and chronic disease management, infection control, and emergency response.

Strong experience with electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare management software.

Ability to supervise and mentor nursing staff, ensuring proper patient care and adhere to protocols.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced correctional healthcare environment.

Maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with leadership, staff, patients, the public and external partners.

Possess strong judgment, discretion, flexibility and integrity.

Ability to quickly assess medical emergencies and implement appropriate interventions effectively and calmly.

Strong decision-making skills in high-pressure situations, balancing medical care with security concerns.

Strong ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.

Strong attention to detail, follow‑up and timely completion of assigned tasks.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Excellent communication skills with proven experience leading, managing, and coaching medical staff through complex human resources issues and challenges.

Requirements

Minimum Education and/or Experience Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, health administration, business administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Three (3) or more years of progressive experience in healthcare administration, and leadership or management OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Required Certifications and Licenses
  • Must have and maintain current RN or NP licensure within the State of Georgia
  • Must have or attain a BLS Certification prior to the first employment day
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a correctional facility
  • Experience in budget management and contract analysis
  • Familiarity with NCCHC, ACA, OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission standards
