Sprayberry Animal Hospital in Marietta, GA is seeking a hands‑on, confident veterinary professional who can step in and support our medical team with minimal ramp‑up. This role is ideal for someone comfortable assisting in surgery, monitoring anesthesia, and helping triage urgent cases while collaborating with local emergency referral partners. ✨ What You’ll Do as a Vet Tech/Assistant Clinical & Surgical Support- Assist veterinarians during exams, diagnostics, and surgical procedures
- Support surgical induction, anesthesia monitoring, and recovery
- Prepare patients and surgical suites using proper sterile techniques
- Monitor patients post‑operatively and report changes in condition
- Confidently handle and restrain patients of various sizes and temperaments
- Assist with triage of urgent cases and help guide appropriate referrals to local emergency hospitals
- Provide compassionate, efficient care in fast‑paced situations
- Perform phlebotomy, catheter placement, radiology, and in‑house lab work
- Administer oral, subcutaneous, and intravenous medications as directed
- Accurately document treatments, diagnostics, and communications in the medical record
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding patient care and discharge instructions
- Maintain clean, organized, and well‑stocked treatment and surgical areas
- Collaborate closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff
What We’re Looking For:
Required Experience
- 2+ years of experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant in a clinical setting
- Confidence assisting in surgery and monitoring anesthesia
- Comfort triaging urgent cases and supporting referral decisions
- Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
- LVT / RVT / CVT a plus
, but not required - Experienced, non‑credentialed veterinary assistants will be considered
🚫 This role is best suited for candidates with prior hands‑on clinical experience.
Schedule- Full‑time opportunity
- Availability for some Saturdays required
