LandscaperJob Responsibilities
- Greets members, guests with a smile, and takes care of their needs
- Weeds and prepares soil for planting
- Rakes and/or uses leaf blower to clear debris
- Digs and plants as directed
- Mows using walk mower and riding mower as appropriate
- Represents the club with the utmost of professionalism
- Cleans maintenance area and equipment daily
- Follows safety guidelines described in the operating procedures and practices behavior that ensures the safety of the employee, co-workers, members, and guests
- Complies with departmental and Club appearance standards
- Works various shifts, as needed to include weekends and/or holidays
- Complies with departmental and Club policies and procedures
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- Must have valid driver’s license to operate Club vehicle
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
- 1 year of landscaping, groundskeeping, or outdoor maintenance experience preferred; experience in a club, resort, or commercial property setting preferred
- Basic knowledge of landscaping practices, including mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and weed control
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems and outdoor water management (preferred, not required)
- Knowledge of mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, planting, mulching, and general landscape upkeep
- Understanding of plant health, proper watering techniques, seasonal care, fertilization, and pest awareness
- Skilled in safely using lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge cutters, and basic irrigation tools
- Ability to maintain clean, well-manicured grounds with a high standard for aesthetics
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, lift heavy objects, and follow safety protocols
- Efficiently prioritizes daily tasks and completes work with minimal supervision
- Identifies issues such as irrigation leaks, plant health concerns, or safety hazards and communicates them promptly
- Works effectively with grounds staff and other departments to support property appearance and operational needs
- Consistently arrives prepared, uses equipment responsibly, and maintains assigned areas with care
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent work schedule
