Associate Veterinarian (DVM) at Berwick Animal Hospital, LLC

We are seeking a compassionate, team-oriented Associate Veterinarian looking to join a privately‑owned general practice caring for companion animals in a rapidly growing part of Savannah, GA. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering high‑quality medical, surgical, and dental care while building strong client relationships and supporting a positive, professional hospital culture.

  • Foster an ongoing culture of medical dialogue with a team of veterinarians looking for expanded ways to analyze, diagnose, treat and manage cases, while supporting one another’s individual practice and expertise
Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide medical, surgical, and dental care for well and sick patients
  • Perform thorough exams, diagnostics, and execute treatment plans with consistency and accuracy
  • Communicate clearly with clients and obtain informed consent
  • Document medical records in a timely, accurate manner
  • Recognize when referral is appropriate and coordinate specialty care
  • Prescribe medications and controlled substances safely and in compliance with DEA and hospital policies
  • Participate in rounds, case handoffs, and team communication to ensure continuity of care
  • Foster an educational environment for veterinarians and support staff and contribute to development.
  • Model professionalism and a cooperative, respectful workplace culture.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Eligible for (or currently holding) a veterinary license in the state of employment.
  • Eligible for (or currently holding) a DEA license.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and make sound clinical decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to earn respect through teamwork and leadership.
  • Positive, professional communication style with clients and team members.
  • Dependable attendance and consistent punctuality.
  • Comfort with using practice management software, electronic medical records, AI scribing tools and other business technology tools.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach frequently during an 8‑10 hour shift.
  • Fine motor skills sufficient to use hospital equipment (scalpels, syringes, radiology and lab equipment, computers, etc.).
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records and communicate effectively in person and by phone.
  • Ability to work under stress and handle busy or irregular schedules as needed.
