Blue Pearl Pet Hospital is hiring for an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join us in Savannah, GA! Prior Veterinary Medicine experience is required.

Schedule: Weekdays, 4x10 hour shifts, 8am-6pm

Pay Range: $17.00 - $26.00 / hour

(This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool.)

At Blue Pearl Pet Hospital, our Veterinary Receptionists are imperative to the success of our hospital. In this position, you are the first Blue Pearl Associate that the client sees. You will ensure that each client receives the care and attention that they need. You will need to be able to function calmly and compassionately in situations that can be very emotional and difficult for our clients.

As

a Veterinary Receptionist:
  • Provide a warm, professional welcome to every client and visitor upon entry, maintaining friendly eye contact, a positive attitude, and an approachable demeanor at all times.
  • Create a compassionate first impression by offering consistent courtesy, empathy, and attentive service.
  • Communicate clearly, calmly, and professionally in person and over the phone to ensure clients fully understand information and next steps.
  • Act as a compassionate listener, responding appropriately to client concerns, questions, and emotional needs.
  • Assess each client's immediate needs upon arrival, including observing the pet's general condition to help determine priority of care.
  • Identify and triage incoming cases by distinguishing between "stat" and standard emergency situations, promptly alerting the medical team as needed.
  • Manage non-patient inquiries and visitors by directing them to the appropriate department or team member efficiently and professionally.
  • Confirm appointments in advance and ensure clients receive accurate instructions regarding preparation for their pet's visit.
  • Provide emotional support and educational resources to grieving clients in a respectful, discreet, and compassionate manner.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and service partners during aftercare and pet remains handling, ensuring a complete, accurate, and sensitive process.

Continuing Education Plan

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non‑Credentialed, full‑time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full‑time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full‑time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year.
