Quality Assurance System Specialist - 2in GAC Savannah

Unique Skills Core Documentation Competencies
  • Ability to translate regulatory and standard requirements into practical, auditable procedures
  • Skilled in structuring documentation for usability, traceability, and inspection readiness
  • Strong command of document hierarchy, linkage (manuals, SOPs, WI), and crossreferencing
Document Life Cycle Management
  • Hands‑on experience managing document lifecycle activities: creation, revision, approval, issuance, and archival
  • Expertise in change control processes and impact assessment for document updates
  • Maintains strict version control and ensures alignment across quality system documents
  • Ensures timely periodic review and compliance with document retention policies
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborates with process owners, SMEs, and leadership to gather accurate inputs
  • Facilitates reviews to resolve gaps between documented processes and operational reality
  • Communicates quality requirements effectively to non‑quality stakeholders
System Proficiency
  • Experienced with electronic Document Management Systems (eDMS)
  • Utilizes formatting, templates, and style guides to standardize documentation
Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, aviation sciences, quality systems or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 2 years related technical experience of continually increasing responsibility. Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations is required.

Position Purpose

In a team oriented environment, performs all tasks in area of responsibility in a timely and efficient manner to support Quality Management System Documentation and electronic systems development compliant with applicable regulatory requirements. Coordinates with functional organizations the documentation and implementation of specific business processes that support the Quality Management System. Coordinates and manages FAA approval of the Quality Management System.

Job Description Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implements and maintains quality management systems and procedures.
  • Ensures efficiency and accuracy in the maintenance of quality systems, documented processes and procedures.
  • Evaluates effectiveness and maintenance of QA documentation databases, creates reports, audits accuracy, interprets results and identifies systems trends and process deficiencies.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements through the development and application of or record retention requirements.
  • Works with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Materials and other business units to evaluate processes in support of internal operating procedures to ensure quality systems objectives and requirements are included.
  • Prepares and delivers management reports and presentations.
  • Evaluates existing systems for improvement opportunities. Creates process maps, flow charts and systems procedures.
  • Researches submitted process changes for consistency with existing processes/procedures and compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • Additional Functions
  • Actively supports corporate initiative in resource sustainability and business continuity.
  • Promotes, encourages and supports continuous improvement culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Other Requirements
  • An Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license may be used in combination with four (4) years of related experience (in addition to the experience requirements below) in lieu of the degree requirement.
  • ASQ certification (CQE) and/or experience as a FAA recognized airworthiness designee highly preferred.
  • A&P license preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AS 9100 or ISO 9100 is preferred.
  • Understands and is able to apply and communicate to others: blueprints/specifications, Quality Control System Requirements.
  • Computer literate‑capable of working within the various software applications utilized throughout the corporation.
  • This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
