Position Summary
Rutgers University‑Camden, the Faculty of Arts & Sciences, Department of Biology invites applications for a Post‑Doctoral Associate position. This one‑year position is fully supported by grants and is renewable based on continued funding.
We seek an individual interested in mechanisms of plant developmental biology and plant stress tolerance. The successful candidate will use molecular, genetic, cellular, and biochemical approaches to study how stomatal development is regulated by abiotic stresses. The candidate will participate in existing research projects in the laboratory and is expected to independently conduct a basic cell biology and bioinformatics research project.
Responsibilities• Design and carry out experiments to investigate molecular mechanisms of stomatal development under abiotic stress conditions.
• Initiate and manage laboratory research projects.
• Analyze and interpret data using bioinformatics tools.
• Publish findings and present at scientific meetings.
• Collaborate with other researchers within the department.
- Ph.D. in plant biology, biochemistry, or a related field (preferably obtained within the last 2 years).
- Experience in plant biology, molecular biology, and/or biochemistry.
- Knowledge of basic cell biology and bioinformatics.
