Job SummaryThe Student Assistant will support the Lakeside Cafe as a Student Serving Attendant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Spring 2026.
The Student Serving Attendant is responsible for assisting in the food service area, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring the dining experience is smooth and efficient for students and guests. The position requires working in a fast-paced environment and interacting directly with customers to deliver quality food and service.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities- Serves food to customers in a friendly and efficient manner
- Ensures proper portion control and presentation of food
- Maintains cleanliness in the station, including wiping down front-facing areas and ensuring condiment stations are clean and well-stocked
- Assists customers with food choices and answers questions about menu items
- Assists with setting up food stations and arranging food displays
- Monitors food temperature and quality to ensure safety and freshness
- Helps with restocking food
- Assists with cleaning and sanitizing workstations, trays, and utensils
- Adheres to all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Up to 25 hours per week
- Flexible with schedule of availability
- Shifts available Monday - Friday
- 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
- 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
$10.00 per hour (non-exempt position paid biweekly)
