La Vetta, a new Italian dining destination from Southern Cross Hospitality, is seeking passionate hospitality professionals to join the team as we prepare to open this spring in downtown Savannah. The kitchen is led by a chef who earned a star in the Michelin Guide Italy 2023. The dining experience will be intentional, intimate, and consistent. To support this, we are building a team that is polished without being stiff, and precise without losing warmth.
From the kitchen to the dining room and bar, every team member plays a vital role for our guests.
As the Lead Bartender, you set the bar standard for La Vetta. This includes owning specs, prep, and training the bar team for consistent service that creates guest satisfaction. You will oversee the bar station and ensure cleanliness.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead bar execution during service and hold consistency on specs, glassware, garnishes, and timing
- Maintain a disciplined prep program, including pars, batching, yields, labeling, and storage standards
- Train bartenders and barbacks on technique, station discipline, and service tone
- Maintain cleanliness standards that hold up under volume and hold close discipline nightly
- Partner with floor leadership on pacing, reservations, and guest expectations
- Track product usage, maintain par levels, and request replenishment through ordering controls
- Craft bartending experience in a standards-driven environment
- Knowledge of Italian cocktail & wine-driven programming is preferred, including aperitivo culture, amari, and vermouth.
- Must have experience withexecuting classic cocktails and ideating proprietary builds
- Strong prep, organization, and sanitation habits with consistent speed
- Comfortable training and holding standards with calm authority
- Certification in safe food handling and alcohol service
- Food Handler’s Certification or the ability to obtain in accordance with federal, state, or local regulations and/or Company policy. Certification for responsible alcohol service or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
