La Vetta, a new Italian dining destination from Southern Cross Hospitality, is seeking passionate hospitality professionals to join the team as we prepare to open this spring in downtown Savannah. The kitchen is led by a chef who earned a star in the Michelin Guide Italy 2023. The dining experience will be intentional, intimate, and consistent. To support this, we are building a team that is polished without being stiff, and precise without losing warmth.

From the kitchen to the dining room and bar, every team member plays a vital role for our guests.

As the sommelier, you will elevate our guests’ experiences through pairing, guidance, and disciplined wine service. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of our wine program. The program must be organized, teachable, and consistent every night, with a strong focus on guest experience and staff development.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Guide guests through pairings and bottle selections with confidence and humility
  • Maintain list accuracy, availability, and organization in coordination with leadership
  • Own cellar standards, storage discipline, receiving, and inventory routines
  • Train the team through pre-shift wine moments, tastings, and service mechanics
  • Coordinate beverage timing with captains and the bar to protect pacing
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Sommelier certification preferred or equivalent experience
  • Strong service presence and ability to read guest intent quickly
  • Organized operator who values systems and cleanliness
  • Certification for responsible alcohol service or the ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
  • Food Handler’s Certification or the ability to obtain in accordance with federal, state, or local regulations and/or Company policy.
