Retail Associate/ Customer Service
The STUDIO GUIDE is a hybrid role that combines plant retail support with art project facilitation. You’ll assist customers with plant selection and care advice, while also preparing, explaining, and delivering self‑guided art kits and projects. This role is perfect for someone who loves both greenery and creativity, enjoys engaging with the community, and thrives in a hands‑on, detail‑oriented environment.
Role and ResponsibilitiesGreet and assist customers in selecting houseplants, pottery, and accessories.
Share plant care knowledge (watering, light, soil, troubleshooting common issues).
Maintain thoughtful, visually inspiring retail displays throughout the shop.
Care for in-store plants: watering, pruning, cleaning, and repotting as needed.
Ability to independently identify and complete tasks that improve the customer experience during slower shop hours.
Assist with merchandising, restocking, unpacking deliveries, and maintaining the overall visual presentation of the shop.
Prepare and stock art kits (paint‑your‑own pottery, mixed‑media projects, etc.) for customer reservations.
Welcome guests to their reserved tables, explain the self‑guided project and answer questions.
Maintain clean and organized art tables, tools, and supplies.
Operate the POS system for sales of plants, art kits, and refreshments.
Keep the studio and café space clean, organized, and stocked.
Help with special events, workshops, or private bookings as needed.
Uphold studio values of creativity, community, and hospitality in all interactions.
Comfortable shifting between customer interaction, creative projects, cleaning/resetting spaces, and retail tasks throughout a shift.
QualificationsRequired:
Customer service or retail experience.
Friendly, approachable personality with strong communication skills.
Basic knowledge of houseplant care OR a passion for plants and willingness to learn.
Interest in creative arts, crafts, or DIY.
Preferred:
Comfort working independently and managing responsibilities without constant direction.
SchedulePart‑Time
5‑7 hour shifts
Daytime & evening shifts
Must have flexible weekend availability
Hands‑on training in both plant care and creative arts.
