The Director of Business Development – Warehousing is responsible for driving new customer acquisition and revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities. This role focuses on outbound prospecting, converting marketing-generated leads, and building long‑term customer relationships. The ideal candidate has experience selling warehousing, logistics, drayage, and port‑related services and consistently exceeds sales goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute outbound sales strategies through cold calling, email, Linked In, networking, and referrals.
- Qualify and convert inbound marketing leads to new business opportunities.
- Identify and pursue target accounts aligned with company services.
- Build, manage, and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
- Lead the sales process from prospecting through proposal, negotiation, and closing.
- Deliver compelling customer presentations and solution‑based sales proposals.
- Partner with Marketing to improve lead generation and campaign effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and activity reporting.
- Meet individual sales goals while supporting overall business objectives.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 6+ years of business development or sales experience, preferably within warehousing, logistics, transportation, or supply chain.
- Proven success generating new business, growing revenue, and exceeding sales targets.
- Experience selling solution‑based logistics or warehousing services.
- Strong prospecting, relationship‑building, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Self‑motivated with strong business acumen, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
