Position Overview

The Account Manager maintains and expands relationships with assigned account base customers, with the goal of maximizing sales and profit for each account and, most importantly, expanding CR market penetration within the assigned area. The Account Manager represents the full range of company products and services to assigned customers, leads the customer account planning cycle, and ensures customers’ needs and expectations are met by the company.

This role requires building and sustaining productive relationships and partnerships with current customers and prospects to grow sales and penetrate the Designers, Architects, and Builders segments.

Job Responsibilities
  • Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
  • Coordinate the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations.
  • Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts.
  • Proactively lead a joint company account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones for one‑ and three‑year periods.
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Develop a sales action plan to service high‑growth potential accounts, collect strategic intelligence, and generate leads from the existing account base to better engage designers, architects, and builders.
  • Participate actively with local professional organizations linked to CR’s tactics and strategies.
  • Create and execute a specific plan to introduce and implement CR products in showrooms and K & B accounts to generate demand within the market, expanding Pompeii brand penetration by assigning more displays to qualified customers/locations.
  • Lead solution development efforts that best address customer needs, coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel.
Accountabilities and Performance Measures
  • Meet assigned expectations for profitability.
  • Achieve customer objectives defined by company management.
  • Complete customer account plans that meet company standards.
  • Coordinate closely with company executives and customer management.
  • Work closely with Customer Service Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
  • Meet quarterly target expectations related to the CR‑Display program once posted.
  • Visit every customer, with displays at least once per month, reporting via email to the Director of Sales.
  • Strategize, organize the assigned territory/region, and plan sales calls weekly.
  • Develop an action plan to approach designers, architects, and builders once fabricator leads are identified during weekly visits.
  • Promote and execute product knowledge (PKs) at customer locations and, if possible, invite customers to visit one of CR’s branches.
  • Actively participate in and leverage branch events to increase sales.
Requirements /

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or a proven track record of at least 10 years in sales and marketing.
  • Prefer knowledge and experience in the building material industry in some capacity.
  • Ability to develop a comprehensive understanding of CR’s competitors, including their capabilities and past competitive history, and assist in developing a plan to outperform them.
  • Detail‑oriented, highly organized, with a hunter mentality for developing and executing strategic plans.
  • Strong skills in discovering, creating, and developing new opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, coupled with a desire, ability, and competitiveness to succeed.
  • Minimum 50% travel on a regional basis to cover territory.
