Senior Oncology Specialist
Territory:
Houston S. (MD Anderson). Relocation is not offered for this role.
- Act as the primary customer contact to provide current and comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen’s products and effectively communicate the clinical and economic benefits to medical professionals.
- Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following‑up on medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, ensuring product access, resolving and triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Craft an effective marketing strategy to aid in driving sales.
- Analyze the effectiveness of sales activities and territory performance, developing territory plans in collaboration with the District Manager.
- Maintain passion for the products throughout the entire sales cycle, building the brand while keeping patient service at the center.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices, fostering continuous curiosity and learning to grow as a Senior Oncology Specialist.
- Leverage knowledge of oncology and disease‑state awareness, industry, regulatory, and competitive changes to deliver agreed results.
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of sales or clinical experience in a healthcare or scientific field that is not sales‑related.
- Associate degree and 6+ years of sales or clinical experience in a healthcare or scientific field that is not sales‑related.
- High school diploma or GED and 8+ years of sales or clinical experience in a healthcare or scientific field that is not sales‑related.
- Preferred experience in oncology.
- Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
- Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases and related treatments.
- Local market knowledge.
- A Bachelor's degree in life sciences or business administration.
- Adaptability with core competencies: planning and organizing; leveraging business, industry, and technical knowledge; communicating with impact; driving for results; cultivating internal and external relationships.
The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $158,727 to $177,179. Actual salary will vary based on qualifications and experience.
