BD Manager, Operations Management
This is a senior commercial leadership role within a fast-scaling energy transition infrastructure platform that has moved beyond early-stage growth and is now focused on execution excellence, profitability, and scale.
The business has strong operational capability and a growing project delivery track record. What it now needs is a senior commercial leader to own everything from pipeline origination through deal execution, team leadership, and revenue growth across two distinct business lines.
This is not a team management role with a sales title. It is a revenue-owning, board-facing leadership position with real authority to shape commercial strategy, build new lines of income, and close deals personally alongside the team.
Role OverThe SVP of Business Development will have end-to-end commercial responsibility across both business segments, including:
- Owned-and-operated infrastructure growth – expanding a recurring-revenue asset base across commercial and residential real estate
- Construction & project delivery pipeline – EPC contracts for third-party clean energy infrastructure
- Team leadership across six individual contributors (network and energy solutions)
- Equipment sales revenue – a significant and currently under-exploited income stream
- New infrastructure vertical – a greenfield growth platform backed by planned external financing
You will act as the commercial integrator between operations, engineering, finance, and the CEO - ensuring the business wins the right work, at the right margin, and builds the relationships that sustain long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities- Own and execute the growth strategy across both the network and energy solutions businesses
- Define where and how the company grows, what resources are required, and communicate timelines and returns to the CEO and Board
- Build clear business cases that outline how initiatives achieve targeted growth within defined time frames
- Drive accountability to the commercial plan through operating rhythms, KPI reporting, and consistent follow-through
- Translate strategy into executable playbooks that the team can run, refine, and scale
- Build and own the energy solutions pipeline
- Personally manage approximately circa six client relationships and actively prospect for new opportunities
- Close deals directly - this is a player-coach role, not a pure management position
- Identify and unlock charger sales revenue, particularly with developers of new multifamily and commercial properties
- Lead a new adjacent business line strategy including team build-out and support for a planned $50–100M separate financing vehicle
- P&L Ownership
- Own or directly influence commercial P&L, revenue forecasting, and BD budgeting
- Improve deal quality and margin discipline across both business lines
- Partner closely with Operations to ensure commercial commitments are deliverable and profitable
- Provide Board-level reporting on pipeline, revenue performance, and market outlook
- Build, manage, and scale a high-performing BD team across network and energy solutions
- Maintain and expand industry relationships with customers, partners, consultants, andkey stakeholders
- Represent the company externally with strong executive presence and excellent client communication
- Stay ahead of market trends in clean energy infrastructure / C&I Renewables and the broader clean energy ecosystem, translating insight into action
- 7-10+ years of leadership experience in business development, growth, sales leadership, or general management within Real Estate, energy, infrastructure, EV or adjacent industries
- Demonstrated success developing commercial strategies and executing them into measurable revenue results
- Proven ability to close deals personally - not just manage the team that does
- Strong commercial acumen with experience owning or directly influencing P&L, forecasting, and Board-level communication
- Experience building, managing, and scaling teams across different growth phases
- Credible executive presence with the ability to operate at board level
- Willingness to be based in Atlanta, GA (hybrid working)
