Private Equity Business Development Associate
- Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 DOE + discretionary bonus
- Location: New York

An exciting opportunity has arisen with a growing global advisory firm that partners with private equity investors on transaction-related research, market intelligence and strategic advisory projects.
This role offers a unique opportunity for an ambitious, commercially minded individual to develop a long-term career within private equity business development.
Working closely with senior business development professionals, you will gain exposure to the private equity market while learning how to identify opportunities, build client relationships and support revenue growth.
Initially, the role will focus on supporting the business development team through market research, CRM management, prospecting and operational support before progressing into a client-facing, revenue-generating position.
Responsibilities Business Development & Market Research- Identify and map prospective private equity firms and investment professionals
- Conduct market research into portfolio companies, fundraising activity and M&A transactions
- Build and maintain detailed client profiles and market intelligence databases
- Support targeted business development campaigns and outreach initiatives
- Monitor deal activity and identify emerging investment trends
- Maintain accurate records across Salesforce and other business development platforms
- Manage opportunities throughout the sales pipeline
- Ensure data integrity and CRM best practice
- Track activity, reporting metrics and pipeline performance
- Prepare materials for client meetings and business development initiatives
- Assist with marketing campaigns and client communications
- Maintain presentations, deal credentials and business development collateral
- Monitor market announcements and transaction activity
- Coordinate meetings, introductions and follow-up activity
- Support senior business development professionals with prospecting and relationship management
- Assist with post-call actions, tracking and reporting
- Develop a strong understanding of client needs and the private equity landscape
- Degree educated, ideally in Economics, Politics, Business, Communications or a related discipline
- Experience in sales, business development, sales support, market intelligence or financial services
- Knowledge of private equity, M&A or investment markets is highly advantageous
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Confident, self-motivated and commercially driven
- Comfortable working with CRM systems, databases and research tools
- Eager to develop a long-term career within a high-growth, client-focused environment
