Position: Work Study Student - Gretsch School of Music - Operations Assistant (Fall 2026)

Work Study Student

The Work Study Student will support the Gretsch School of Music as an Operations Assistant on the Armstrong Campus beginning Fall 2026. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Employment is contingent upon funding.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists students in the Music Technology Lab
  • Sets up and breaks down stage instruments and equipment for Thursday Recital Hour
  • Manages stage during Recital Hour and Concerts as needed

Shift Specifics:
Up to 12 hours per week. Flexible with schedule of availability. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Thursdays 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Limited concerts on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Required Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements:

    Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

    Required Qualifications:

    Must be Federal Work eligible.

Proposed Salary: $12.00 per hour. This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

ABILITIES:
Consistently exhibit engaging customer service. Ability to support various constituencies served by the University. Proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

KNOWLEDGE:
Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success.

SKILLS:

Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills.
