Security Officer

Position Overview

The Security Officer plays a key role in maintaining a safe healthcare environment. Not only is customer service a part of their job description, as they are the first to greet visitors who come into the facilities but so is handling confrontations and providing issue management and support. The variety of security and safety related tasks encompass the safeguarding of employees, patients, visitors, providers and property, and they include responding to alarms, emergency requests, de-escalation tactics, and resolving safety incidents.

At times, it will be expected that Security Officers manage agitated or aggressive patients or visitors.

Work Shift and

Schedule:

This is a per diem position, which means you will work on an as needed, agreed upon basis. Working hours will be assigned by your manager.

Compensation Range:

$21.31 - $30.90 per hour, depending on experience

This position is not eligible for benefits.

Education/Experience

Minimum

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• OR
• Will accept 3 years of Security Officer experience in lieu of education requirement

Preferred:

• One year experience in a Security related field.

License/Certification

Minimum

Required:

• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record if candidate will be driving a vehicle while working, or if not, must have a valid NYS
• Must meet requirements of New York State Security Guard Licensing program and successfully pass within 3 months of hire.
• CPR/Basic First Aid Certification. There is a 3-month grace period from date of hirefor candidates to complete CPR/Basic First Aid certification
