Field/Service Technician, Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job OverviewMorgan Corp. is looking for an experienced Field Mechanic to keep our heavy equipment running and our jobs moving. This role is hands‑on, fast‑paced, and essential to our operations. If you know heavy iron, can diagnose problems in the field, and don’t need someone looking over your shoulder, this job is for you.
Responsibilities- Perform field maintenance and repairs on heavy construction equipment (dozers, excavators, loaders, rollers, etc.)
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues efficiently
- Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime
- Respond to breakdowns at job sites and get equipment back in service quickly
- Accurately document repairs, parts used, and service reports
- Maintain a clean, organized service truck and follow all safety procedures
- Work closely with equipment operators and supervisors to identify issues early
- 3+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic (field experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrain components
- Ability to troubleshoot independently without a shop full of tools
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus)
- Ability to work outdoors in all conditions and lift up to 75 lbs
- Willingness to travel between job sites as needed
