Diesel Technician Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repair tasks on yard trucks. The role involves diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, including wiring and battery systems, conducting computer and emission system repairs, and executing welding and fabrication tasks as needed. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining air brake systems, keeping accurate service records, and adhering to safety protocols while using appropriate personal protective equipment.
Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance on yard trucks.
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including wiring and battery systems.
- Conduct computer and emission system repairs.
- Execute welding and fabrication tasks as needed.
- Repair and maintain air brake systems.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Follow safety protocols and use appropriate PPE.
- Other duties as assigned by the Service Manager.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in diesel mechanics or related field.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Basic computer skills for diagnostics and record-keeping.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- DOT/Medical card certification.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as stooping, climbing, and kneeling.
Skills & Qualifications
- Welding experience and familiarity with DPF/DEF systems.
- Must own a complete set of quality hand tools (preferred).

Work EnvironmentWork hours are from 2pm - 10:30am with rotating weekends (mandatory weekends every 5 weeks). The position is in a hot truck shop, requiring adaptability and resilience in varied conditions.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Savannah, GA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43,860.00 - $72,800.00/yr.
