Trailer Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to perform miscellaneous repairs and preventive maintenance on trailers, ensuring a safe and efficient fleet.

• Perform complete routine, diagnostic, and repair inspections on trailers for any damage, notifying the supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective actions taken.
• Comply with all established industry safety norms and quality control measures during work processes.
• Conduct regular servicing and maintenance of equipment and document all repairs in the maintenance software system.
• Maintain and perform repairs on air brake systems, suspension, landing gear, foundation brakes, electrical, coupler systems, decking, and under structure.
• Conduct welding repairs in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Perform minor repairs on terminal tractors.
• Test drive equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Assist other mechanics as needed.
• Comply with company/agency policies and procedures while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software to document repairs, parts usage, and account for repair times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Proficient in using hand tools and pneumatic tools.
• Experience in repair, hydraulics, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to conduct structural repairs and fabrication, including MIG and TIG welding.
• Ability to fit and work with various materials.

• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Basic computer skills for diagnostics and record-keeping.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform tasks such as stooping, climbing, and kneeling.
• Ownership of a complete set of quality hand tools is preferred.

This is a Permanent position based out of Savannah, GA.

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $54080.00/yr.
