Travel: Local travel between J.C. Lewis locations with gas and mileage reimbursement
Schedule: Full-time Monday-Friday, with occasional planned after-hours or weekend work for specific projects
J.C. Lewis is seeking a reliable General Maintenance Technician to help keep our facilities safe, functional, and looking their best for our team and customers. This is a hands‑on role with a variety of tasks, from basic repairs to troubleshooting everyday maintenance issues.
You don’t need to be an expert in everything – we’re looking for someone dependable, detail‑oriented, proactive, and willing to learn (because we're willing to teach!).
What You'll Do:Perform general maintenance to ensure facilities remain safe, clean, and fully functional.
Complete light construction projects such as repairing structures, installing fixtures, or minor carpentry tasks.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, including lighting, outlets, and switches.
Address plumbing needs, such as repairing leaks, unclogging drains, and fixing fixtures.
Accurately track maintenance activities, inspections, and completed work.
Follow all safety procedures and regulations when using tools and equipment.
Work independently and collaboratively with supervisors and team members to complete projects on time.
Provide support at other J.C. Lewis locations and properties as needed.
Who We're Looking For:General maintenance experience required; experience with light construction, basic electrical, and basic plumbing is a plus.
Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Must be 19 years of age or older
Physical Requirements:Lift and carry up to 50lbs of equipment and materials.
Stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
Work in a variety of weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, humidity).
Access confined spaces as needed for maintenance tasks.
Use tools and equipment requiring manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Maintain visual and auditory acuity for inspections, communication, and safety awareness.
Work will take place both indoors (offices, shops, maintenance areas) and outdoors in varying conditions.
Exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and other maintenance-related hazards is possible.
May work independently or as part of a team, occasionally interacting with tenants, residents, or customers.
Proper PPE and adherence to safety protocols are required.
