Mission
Reeves Construction Company is seeking a Laborer / Traffic Control Specialist in Savannah, GA. The successful candidate will focus on safety excellence and assist in the general operation of each job site.
Main Responsibilities- Have knowledge of erecting and maintaining traffic control signs and devices as prescribed in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
- Keep equipment and materials neat, clean, and orderly.
- Carry out detailed instructions for setting up and removing traffic control devices while using good judgement and working independently.
- Maintain a courteous attitude toward motorists.
- Work safely in traffic situations and follow company policies and procedures.
- Perform other general labor duties as instructed by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Provide own transportation to and from work.
- Hold a valid driving license and maintain a driving record that meets company safety guidelines for company vehicle use.
- Pass a DOT Physical to obtain a DOT Medical card.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
Language Skills
- Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Skills
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Compute rate, ratio, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
- Apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Flagger/Traffic Control Training Certification (preferred).
Physical Demands
The employee must regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach and signal with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee frequently must stand and walk, occasionally sit, and regularly lift and move up to 60 pounds. Vision requirements include 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses.
Hearing should be excellent or corrected by an audio device.
Work Environment
The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, wet or humid conditions, high or precarious places, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise levels are usually very loud.
