Field Technician – Job Overview
The Field Technician supports field operations by operating equipment, managing hazardous and non‑hazardous waste, and executing site remediation tasks. This role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, physical endurance, and flexibility for emergency response, overtime, and travel up to 40%.
Essential Job Functions- Safely operate equipment and vehicles in compliance with company policies.
- Be available for on‑call emergency response services, including cleanup of hazardous and non‑hazardous waste spills.
- Perform site remediation and waste management tasks.
- Execute confined‑space entry and tank cleaning tasks following safety guidelines.
- Work overtime and out‑of‑town assignments as needed to meet operational requirements.
- Engage in strenuous physical activity, including lifting and moving heavy equipment and materials, while adhering to safety standards.
- Accurately complete and submit timesheets, vehicle logs, and other required documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in office, yards, warehouses, and trucks.
- Handle, package, and transport hazardous materials according to regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct site assessments to identify potential environmental hazards.
- Assist in the proper labeling, storage, and documentation of hazardous waste.
- Use field instruments to monitor hazardous material levels and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Participate in regular safety training, including hazmat handling and emergency response drills.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to hazardous materials and waste.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
- Ability to obtain and maintain certifications required for confined space entry and hazardous material handling.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Bilingual proficiency (strongly preferred).
- Previous experience in hazardous waste management, spill response, or a related field.
- Familiarity with operating and maintaining field equipment.
- Basic knowledge of environmental regulations and safety protocols.
- Work in hazardous conditions, confined spaces, and outdoor settings.
- Adhere to strict safety guidelines and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Willfully available for overtime, weekends, and holidays to meet project demands.
