Ryder is hiring a Mid‑Level Diesel Technician in Savannah, Georgia. This role offers weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.
Benefits- Hourly Pay: $29.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus up to $700 for each new ASE Certification
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter
- Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
- Schedule:
Tuesday – Saturday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM - Medical, Dental, Vision after 30 days
- 80 hours PTO the first year, starting Day 1

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification or postsecondary degree (preferred)
- Basic tools, required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work, etc.)
- Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience in required areas (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Ability to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification for previous employers for the last 3 years
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle record checks; road tests; and/or badge or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Responsibilities- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard maintenance and component inspections and repairs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and diagnose mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic computers.
- Identify root cause of failures and perform repairs as required.
- Replace defective components as instructed.
- Perform facility maintenance duties.
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints.
- Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT, etc.).
- Perform other support duties to support operations, including Service Island support as needed.
