Apprentice Avionics Installer

GAC Savannah

Entry level position requiring a High School Diploma or GED and strong mechanical aptitude. Built to train candidates in avionics installation and manufacturing processes under direct supervision. Goal: to develop skills for a fully proficient avionics installer.

Responsibilities

Assist in installations, modifications and fabrication of wiring and electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, and engineering drawings.

Assist with completing tasks within allotted time frames.

Assist with maintaining required logs and records.

Comply with the company FOD program, tool control program, 5‑S program, and all safety regulations.

Observe and assist to become familiar with parts and assemblies, then work with decreasing supervision as experience grows.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Ability to read a scale and perform basic shop math.

Read and comprehend basic documents and instructions.

Aptitude for hands‑on craftwork, professional attitude, attention to detail, teamwork, and ability to meet demanding schedules.

Demonstrate good housekeeping and safety practices.

Proficiency in current personal computer–based software.

Availability to work any shift.

Ability to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
