Diesel Technician Mechanic

Ryder System is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician Mechanic to maintain and repair our transportation fleet in the Automotive department. In this on-site role, you'll diagnose and service diesel engines, braking and electrical systems, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable vehicles. You'll use modern diagnostic tools, follow DOT and Ryder standards, and accurately document all work. Working in a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement, you'll collaborate with peers, grow your technical skills, and support efficient, on-time fleet operations for diverse customers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, drive trains, and related systems for Ryder's transportation fleet
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections to meet DOT and Ryder standards
• Use electronic diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot electrical and emission systems
• Document all work performed, parts used, and repair recommendations in maintenance systems
• Collaborate with team members to prioritize repairs, minimize downtime, and support fleet reliability
• Adhere to safety protocols, maintain a clean work area, and participate in continuous improvement efforts
