Job Summary

The Lighting Services Foreman is responsible for directing and supervising the installation, maintenance, and repair of outdoor lighting systems, including NEC-compliant streetlights and related electrical infrastructure. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while adhering to all applicable codes and company standards. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with technical expertise in lighting systems and a commitment to safety and quality.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Direct the installation of cables, conduit, and streetlights in compliance with NEC standards and local codes.
  • Assign daily work tasks to crews and monitor progress to ensure adherence to plans, schedules, and safety procedures.
  • Inspect work in progress and completed projects for quality and compliance.
  • Supervise special electrical projects involving high-voltage systems.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for materials and equipment needed for projects.
  • Maintain accurate work reports detailing job requirements, manpower, materials used, and hours worked.
  • Prepare administrative reports, including overtime and productivity summaries.
  • Monitor and evaluate crew performance to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Train staff in proper safety procedures and enforce adherence to safety protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members to ensure project success.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); technical or trade school preferred.
  • Licensed electrician or equivalent experience in lighting/electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC standards, electrical codes, and lighting installation practices.
  • Previous experience supervising crews on electrical or lighting projects.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Must pass background check, drug, and alcohol testing.
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites and work extended hours as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • In-depth understanding of lighting systems, electrical codes, and installation techniques.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Working Conditions
  • Work performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
  • Exposure to electrical hazards, heavy equipment, and construction site conditions.
  • Frequent travel to various job sites with occasional overnight stays.
  • Work hours may vary depending on project requirements and emergency response situations.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, climbing, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in physically demanding environments.
  • Must be able to wear and operate all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
