Job DescriptionSafely operates a tractor‑trailer or straight truck with a pup trailer (or other vehicle requiring a Class A CDL) to perform assigned duties on designated routes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Operate vehicle in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and local, state, and federal requirements, maintaining a clean and safe vehicle.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using the electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (eDVIR); note all issues for corrective review.
- Immediately report any unsafe situations or unscheduled service calls to Operations Manager and Dispatch before attempting service.
- Participate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required.
- Collaborate with Operations Managers and Dispatch to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
- Carry out all duties scheduled by Operations Manager and Dispatch, and assist other company drivers as directed.
- Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
- Notify Operations Manager and Dispatch of issues per Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, incomplete services, or route problems.
- Communicate customer requests, issues, or service changes to Operations Manager and Dispatch.
- Completely dump all containers and leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
- Position containers on the customer’s property to ensure they do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
- Follow route assignments and complete all documentation when checking in at the end of the route.
- One year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL (or one year equivalent military driving within the last seven years).
- Ability to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports.
- Minimum age 18 years and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A upon hire.
- Physical ability to perform job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations upon hire.
- Successful completion of DOT pre‑employment screening, including drug screen and physical upon hire.
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
- Standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, talking, and hearing.
- Work in both indoor garage/shop or gas plant conditions and outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
