Dump Truck Driver at CRH Savannah, GA

Job . This position involves daily operation and driving of a tractor‑trailer combination or a single, double or tri‑axel vehicle. The driver will be responsible for loading and unloading the truck and requires a commercial driver’s license. Under direction of the Driver Manager, the driver will perform the following duties.

• Perform daily pre‑/post‑trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines and company policies.
• Obey applicable laws and follow dispatch instructions.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from the loading crew and checking that the vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
• Depending on materials hauled, may require unloading of contents by hand or shovel.
• Keep the truck in a clean and orderly condition.
• Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
• Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions.
• Complete, store, and submit all necessary documentation.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.

• Ability to obtain DOT Medical Card through the company.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co‑workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA.
• Maintain current driver’s license that meets state requirement (e.g., CDL‑A and/or CDL‑B, and any endorsements).
• Have a motor vehicle record that meets company standards.
• Be able to work independently, safely, with strong organization skills, and a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co‑workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid State CDL‑B or CDL‑A license.
• Minimum of three (3) years of prior related experience in the construction field preferred.

• Ability to understand written and oral direction and to communicate the same with others.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Time management, interpersonal, and administrative skills.

Physical Requirement:
Ability to climb, squat, bend, push, pull, and lift.

Work Environment:
The employee regularly works outside on job sites or in a shop setting and is exposed to frequently changing temperatures, wet or humid conditions, noise, fumes or other airborne particles. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, in high, precarious places, and may be exposed to vibration.

Shift differential may apply – the job requires the ability to work any shift and to work in GA and SC depending on the project.
