Job Summary

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks with front, side, or rear‑end load lift attachments, depending on the line of business and the type of truck. They transport material to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial drivers pick up containers filled with waste or recyclable material, which may weigh over 1,000 pounds and sometimes require maneuvering wheeled containers to a pick‑up stage.

They navigate high‑traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots, performing highly skilled backing maneuvers.

Residential drivers collect household waste or recyclable material and must safely maneuver vehicles in residential environments, navigating the same congested and tight spaces.

Roll‑off drivers prepare, load, and transport large open‑top and compactor containers from customer locations, navigating driveways, alleyways, lots, and high‑traffic roadways, often operating in tight overhead environments on industrial routes. Backing maneuvers are essential.
