Position: Aircraft Flight Instructor - Title 32

Position Overview

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This full‑time, Excepted Permanent dual status position is for an Aircraft Flight Instructor at the Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF - #3) in Savannah, Georgia. Current members of the Georgia Army National Guard are eligible.

Qualifications
  • Current Georgia Army National Guard member, Title 32 status.
  • Military grade W2, W3, or W4.
  • Minimum 1 year of on‑the‑job experience in the grade (or comparable rank) immediately below the next higher level.
  • At least 2 years of experience instructing others on a specific air‑frame/military aircraft.
  • Competent in flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, operating procedures, and mission tactics.
  • Experience in mission tasking, intelligence reporting, weather assessment, flight planning, crew briefings, preflight inspections, aircraft loading, equipment assessment, and mission manning.
  • Experience in supervising or filing flight plans, performing or supervising navigation, in‑flight refueling, search and rescue operations, and surveillance/reconnaissance missions.
  • Experience in operating aircraft controls and equipment, using onboard instrumentation, video cameras, and flying simulated combat and non‑combat missions.
  • Experience with visual flight‑rules and instrument flying, and with operating within Federal Aviation Administration controlled airspace.
  • Experience with unit quality‑control management, unit flying, explosive and ground safety programs, and compliance with Department of the Army, National Guard Bureau, and OSHA directives.
  • Experience with safety program requirements, accident investigation reports, and coordination with appropriate agencies for safety regulation compliance.
  • Experience with missions such as air‑to‑air, air‑to‑ground, mortar escort, surveillance, reconnaissance, surface attack, target illumination, laser targeting, and piloting powered or unmanned aircraft.
