Reefer Trailer Technician

Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION Role and Responsibilities

• 1. Performs preventive maintenance (PM’s) and DOT compliance on trailer equipment.
• 2. Diagnose service, and repair reefer (refrigerated) trailer units.
• 3. Complete work orders, document parts used, and labor hours for repairs completed.
• 4. Perform Emergency Roadside Services.
• 5. Responsible for truck cleanliness and organization.
• 6. Ensure the service truck is fueled and complete proper maintenance to ensure the service truck remains operational.
• 7. Guarantee Service truck parts are inventoried and restocked parts as needed - this includes taking along parts that may be needed to complete repairs on site.
• 8. Communicate effectively with the Manager and Dispatch to coordinate repairs and meet customer requirements.
• 9. Ensure every mechanic knows how or has the knowledge to complete each task on the checklist given before being certified.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• DOT CERTIFIED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work well with others.
