The Outbound Lead serves as the Assistant Outbound Supervisor and is responsible for overseeing daily outbound operations, including drop shipping, LTL shipments, order fulfillment, and inventory movement. This role supports the Operations Manager in maintaining productivity, accuracy, and service levels while leading warehouse associates in day-to-day activities.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily drop shipping operations and ensure customer orders are processed accurately and on time.
- Coordinate and supervise LTL outbound shipments, including scheduling, staging, documentation, and shipment verification.
- Manage product pull-down and replenishment activities to ensure inventory is available for order fulfillment.
- Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to manage outbound operations, inventory movements, and order processing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic WMS and operational system issues, escalating more complex problems when necessary.
- Lead and support outbound associates in picking, packing, labeling, and shipping activities.
- Monitor daily workflow and allocate labor resources based on operational priorities.
- Ensure shipping accuracy and investigate order discrepancies.
- Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching to team members.
- Assist the Operations Manager in monitoring productivity, attendance, and work quality.
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies and warehouse procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
- Communicate effectively with operations, inventory, customer service, and transportation teams.
- Previous warehouse leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent learning ability and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
- Must have basic computer skills and be comfortable learning warehouse systems.
- Spanish or Chinese language skills are preferred.
- Forklift experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team with minimal supervision.
- Typical schedule:
Tuesday through Friday and Sunday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. - Overtime may be required based on operational demands and business needs.
