Position SummaryThe Warehouse Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and yard operations at the Savannah facility to ensure accurate inventory management, timely order execution, and a safe, organized working environment. This role plays a critical part in coordinating product flow between warehouse, dispatch, and delivery operations, ensuring customer commitments are met while maintaining Walthall Oil’s standards of service, safety, and operational excellence.
The Coordinator must be a hands‑on leader capable of managing daily workloads, coordinating personnel, and supporting logistics operations as business demand requires.
- Oversee daily warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, staging, and inventory control
- Coordinate product movement for fuel, lubricants, DEF, and packaged goods
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform routine cycle counts
- Support tank assembly, maintenance, organization, and yard operations
- Coordinate with dispatch and management to align warehouse operations with delivery schedules
- Assist with oil and DEF deliveries when required
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and organization of all warehouse and yard areas
- Support customer service needs and order fulfillment
- Provide operational coverage during team absences or peak demand periods
- Promote safety compliance and proper handling of materials and equipment
- Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, staging, picking, loading, and shipping
- Maintain accurate inventory records for lubricants, DEF, drums, totes, packaged goods, and supplies
- Perform regular cycle counts and coordinate inventory adjustments as needed
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of all materials
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate reorder needs to management
- Support physical counts and audits
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety of warehouse, yard, and bulk tank areas
- Coordinate layout for tanks, pallets, and equipment to maximize space efficiency
- Oversee loading and unloading activities
- Ensure forklift and equipment inspections are completed
- Maintain compliance with facility safety protocols
- Coordinate daily warehouse workload with dispatch operations
- Stage deliveries in alignment with route schedules
- Communicate priorities to warehouse staff and drivers
- Provide coverage during staff absences or high‑volume periods
- Support special projects and cross‑terminal coordination when applicable
- Assist in tank assembly, maintenance, and yard deployment
- Support DEF and oil tank preparation for customer installations
- Coordinate shop activities related to tank refurbishment and equipment readiness
- Assist in resolving order fulfillment issues
- Support customer inquiries related to delivery status and product availability
- Maintain professional customer interactions at all times
- Adhere to and enforce OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies
- Ensure proper use of PPE by warehouse and yard personnel
- Assist with incident reporting and corrective action efforts
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability
- Maintain documentation related to inventory and warehouse operations
- Support procurement and product scheduling as needed
- Assist with ERP transactions related to inventory movement
- Provide operational updates to the Operations Manager
- Support onboarding of new warehouse personnel
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior warehouse, logistics, or operations leadership experience preferred
- Forklift experience strongly preferred
- Understanding of inventory management processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- ERP or warehouse management system experience preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Willingness to perform hands‑on operational work
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and operate equipment for extended periods
- Exposure to warehouse, yard, and weather conditions
