Warehouse Coordinator
The Warehouse Coordinator supports daily warehouse and yard operations by safely loading, unloading, sorting, stacking, and identifying materials, while maintaining a clean and organized work area. This role requires regular use of forklifts and pallet jacks, as well as performing physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and climbing ladders. The Warehouse Coordinator contributes to efficient shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes and works effectively in a variety of weather conditions.
Responsibilities- Safely load and unload warehouse materials using a forklift and other material handling equipment.
- Sort, stack, and identify materials accurately to support efficient warehouse and yard operations.
- Assist lead storekeepers with putting away materials in designated storage locations.
- Perform shipping and receiving activities, including checking incoming and outgoing materials.
- Support inventory control by picking, packing, and staging materials as required.
- Operate pallet jacks and other equipment to move materials throughout the warehouse and yard.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe warehouse, yard, and job site areas through regular housekeeping tasks.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet operational goals and deadlines.
- Work independently when needed, managing time and tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in adverse weather conditions and performing physical tasks such as lifting, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and climbing ladders.
- 1–3 years of related warehouse, shipping and receiving, or materials handling experience.
- High school diploma.
- Proven forklift operation experience and ability to operate a forklift safely.
- Experience with shipping and receiving processes.
- Experience with inventory control, picking, packing, and packaging.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and related warehouse equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and other physically demanding tasks such as kneeling, squatting, twisting, and climbing ladders.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to get along well with others.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to work.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a supply chain or logistics environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to warehouse procedures.
- Strong attention to detail when handling and identifying materials.
The Warehouse Coordinator works in a warehouse, yard, and job site environment that involves both indoor and outdoor conditions, including adverse weather. The role requires frequent use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment, as well as regular heavy lifting and physically demanding movements such as kneeling, squatting, twisting, and climbing ladders. The work is hands-on and fast-paced, supporting shipping, receiving, inventory control, picking, packing, and packaging activities.
The position requires wearing steel toe boots as part of the safety dress code and emphasizes maintaining a clean, organized, and safe facility while collaborating closely with team members.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, GA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
