The Yard Attendant safely supports transloading and yard operations in an outdoor, industrial environment. This role involves working at elevated heights, handling railcar components and shipping containers, and performing general labor tasks while consistently following established safety procedures.

• Work safely at elevated heights while performing all assigned tasks.
• Follow all established safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
• Open and close railcar gates in a safe and efficient manner.
• Install and remove bulkheads as needed to support loading and unloading activities.
• Prepare shipping containers for loading, unloading, and transport.
• Install condensation tarps to protect materials and equipment as required.
• Perform general clean-up duties in the yard and work areas to maintain a safe and organized environment.
• Support general labor and facility operations as directed, including repetitive and heavy lifting tasks.
• Operate yard and facility equipment as trained and authorized.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly to ensure safe and efficient yard operations.

• Proven general labor experience in an industrial, construction, warehouse, or similar environment.
• Experience working outside in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely lift up to 60 lbs on a repetitive basis.
• Ability to push, pull, kneel, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
• Comfort working at elevated heights while following safety procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal safety procedures consistently.
• Experience with manual labour and repetitive lifting tasks.
• Familiarity with basic facility operation and general yard or industrial work.
• Ability to operate machines or equipment after receiving proper training.
• Reliability and willingness to work 1st shift with frequent overtime.

• Experience in general labor roles involving heavy lifting and repetitive tasks.
• Experience working outdoor, yard, rail, or industrial environments.
• Experience with safety-focused work practices in fast-paced settings.
• Willingness to be cross-trained in different operational areas.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Comfort working around industrial equipment and machinery.

The environment is laid back and non-micromanaged, with clear expectations that the work gets done but with trust in each employee’s professionalism. You can expect 1st shift work with frequent overtime opportunities, as well as the chance to grow, develop new skills, and be cross-trained in different areas of the operation.

This role is based in an outdoor yard environment with regular exposure to the elements, including cold conditions in winter and extreme heat in summer. The work is fast paced and takes place in and around industrial equipment and machinery, requiring consistent attention to safety. You will perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.

The culture is relaxed and supportive, with minimal micromanagement, while still maintaining a strong focus on safety and productivity. Standard hours are on 1st shift with significant overtime opportunities, and attire should be appropriate for outdoor industrial work and changing weather conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, GA.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
