Salary Range: $12.00 - $13.00 Hourly
Summary:
Relieves mental health professionals of administrative and clerical work by performing the following duties.
- Answers telephone and routes telephone calls.
- Greets and directs consumers, other agents, and visitors.
- Produces and maintain daily schedules.
- Contacts clients scheduled for servies at least one day in advance of appointment and modify/change schedule as needed.
- Used the computer to schedule and modify appointments.
- Schedule consumer appointments for outpatient services (counseling, medication clinic, and transportation services.)
- Re-schedule consumer appointments for outpatient services as requested by the consumer or the clinical staff.
- Report promptly to the appropriate clinician information or requests from the consumers they serve.
- Verify consumer’s current address, telephone number, insurance or Tenn Care eligibility at each visit.
- Provide customer service to clients, families, and others within guidelines of mental health confidentiality.
- Backup Office Manager during breaks, lunch, training, etc.
- Attend scheduled meetings and relate relevant information.
- Perform routine to moderately difficult typing and clerical work.
- Collect deductibles, co-payments, and other payments due at the time the service is rendered.
- Maintain neatness and cleanliness of reception area.
- Collect money accurately and place it in a money box as directed by policy.
- Receives consumer or community complaints and notifies the Office Manager of the same.
- Monitors work environment for life safety compliance, equipment functioning, and submits work orders as needed.
- Assess and refers walk-in or non-scheduled emergency request for services.
- Assist Office Manager with unlocking and locking all doors daily according to clinic schedule.
- Other duties may be assigned.

QualificationsQualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education and/or
Experience:
High School diploma, GED, or higher; and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
People
Skills:
Ability to deal tactfully with the public and co-coworkers, exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions, express ideas clearly, concisely and convincingly, knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
Language
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of consumers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, portions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPR and First Aid certification, and Non-violent crisis intervention training.
