About the JobDrivers typically average over $20
/hr (wage + tips + mileage reimbursement). Mileage reimbursement and tips are paid daily; hourly wages are paid every other Friday. Delivery experts may use their own vehicle and receive a mileage reimbursement to cover fuel and other auto expenses, or use a company‑provided vehicle (must be at least 21, clean driving record, minimum 2 years of driving history). A safe driving record is a must.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must pass a background check and have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Must have a reliable vehicle and valid insurance.
- Must possess good navigational skills and be able to read/follow maps and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Must be able to navigate adverse terrain including multi‑story buildings.
- Must be able to follow directives, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and well with others, handle stress, meet strict quality control standards, provide excellent customer service, analyze and compile data, and make good judgments and decisions.
- Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when delivering product or distributing flyers and door hangers.
- Sudden changes in temperature in work area and while outside – in-store temperatures range from 36 °F in cooler areas to 90 °F and above in some work areas.
- Fumes from food odors, including exposure to cornmeal dust.
- Compact work areas including walk‑in cooler.
- Hot surfaces/tools including oven reaching 500 °F or higher.
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Walking/Carrying/Climbing: Delivery personnel must travel between the store and delivery vehicle and from the delivery vehicle to the customer’s location, carrying pizzas and beverages while walking and climbing. Navigation of 5+ flights of stairs may be required.
Driving: Use safe driving practices to deliver products within a designated delivery area. Delivery drivers may make several deliveries per shift.
Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist is necessary at the pizza assembly station. Forward bending is also present at the front counter and when stocking ingredients. Forward bending is performed periodically during the day.
Reaching: Workers reach above 72″ occasionally to turn on/off oven controls, change prices on sign, and lift and lower objects to and from shelves. Workers reach down to perform tasks such as scooping cornmeal from a plastic barrel, washing dishes, and obtaining topping ingredients.
Hand Tasks: Eye‑hand coordination is essential. Frequent activities require the use of one or both hands. Shaping pizza dough, manipulating a pizza peel, and using a rolling cutter require forceful use of forearms and wrists. Workers must be able to grasp cans, the pizza cutter, pizza peel, and pizza boxes.
Sensing: Talking and hearing on telephone. Depth perception, near and mid‑range vision required for most in‑store tasks. Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces. Far and night vision required for driving.
