Job Description

Position Overview: The Estimator is responsible for preparing and ensuring accurate, timely, and competitive bid proposals for electrical contracting projects. This role requires knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and cost estimation. The Estimator will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop comprehensive and competitive estimates that align with company objectives and client requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Estimating & Proposal Development
  Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical contracting projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
  Review project plans, specifications, and related documentation to develop accurate and comprehensive estimates.
  Identify potential risks and opportunities within project bids and recommend strategies to mitigate risks and improve competitiveness.
• Project Coordination
  Partner with project managers to ensure bids are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project goals.
  Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project review sessions as needed.
• Quality Control
  Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.

Requirements

To be considered, preferred applicants should present the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, estimating methods, and relevant codes
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work in office and on construction sites
• 5+ years of electrical estimating experience in construction
• Proficient in Accubid and Microsoft Office
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to travel for site visits and meetings
