The schedule is Monday to Friday – Day Shift.
Job Summary
:
Performs and coordinates all necessary facilities and building maintenance work at the plant. Supports facilities mechanics and associates responsible for the maintenance of all manufacturing equipment, tools and support equipment to achieve company profitability.
- Develop, schedule and carry out routine general maintenance and repair of plant support equipment, including compressors, chillers, water towers, air dryers and air conditioning units.
- Ensure plant lighting, emergency lighting, fire pumps and PIVs are functioning correctly and perform scheduled inspections.
- Conduct daily plant walk‑arounds to identify facility issues that may require attention.
- Replace plant air filters on a scheduled basis and paint structures/equipment as needed.
- Patch minor holes and cracks in walls; ensure faucets, sinks, water coolers and drains are operating properly.
- Assist Facilities Supervisor/Maintenance Manager and line mechanics with contractor and vendor work.
- Maintain all necessary parts and supplies, order parts, materials and tools, and update purchase orders.
- Document all work on work orders, maintain the daily physical inventory of parts, tools and materials, and keep the work order system up to date.
- Maintain computerized preventative maintenance records, procedures and lists.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Basic plumbing, carpentry, drywall and electrical skills with basic NEC knowledge.
- Ability to read, write and speak English and to communicate effectively with contractors.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Capability to use stairs, ladders and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Manage hazardous waste collection area for cleanliness and compliance.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Formal certifications and/or technical education are a plus.
- Must provide own hand tools.
