Structural Welder- Certified

OEG Building Materials is a steel manufacturing company located in Sayreville, New Jersey.

We are currently looking for a Certified Structural Welder who specializes in joining metal components to construct and repair structures such as buildings, cages, and bar joists. This role demands proficiency in various welding techniques, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to interpret technical drawings.

• Reading and Interpreting Blueprints:
  Analyze project plans and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and assembly sequences.
• Metal Preparation and Assembly:
  Clean, cut, and position metal components using tools like saws, grinders, and clamps to ensure accurate alignment before welding.
• Welding Operations:
  Utilize techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding to join metal parts, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with project specifications.
• Equipment Maintenance:
  Regularly inspect and maintain welding tools and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Quality Assurance:
  Examine completed welds for defects, conduct stress tests, and verify that structures meet industry standards and project requirements.
• Safety Compliance:
  Follow established safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure a clean and hazard-free work environment.

Certification:
Possess relevant welding certifications, such as 3G, 4G, or 6GR, demonstrating proficiency in various welding positions and techniques.

• Experience:
  
  Prior experience in structural welding, particularly in construction or industrial settings, is highly desirable.

  Proficiency in operating welding equipment, reading blueprints, and understanding metallurgy.
• Physical Stamina:
  Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in various positions or confined spaces.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and telephone.
• Lift objects weighing as much as 50 pounds.
• Kneeling, stretching, reaching, turning.
• Activity level is high- continuous overhead crane and forklift movement. Noise-controlled environment.
