Aggregate Dredge Mechanic

Cal Portland seeks an Aggregate Dredge Mechanic for the swing shift to support mining and materials production operations. In this on-site role, you will inspect, maintain, and repair dredges, pumps, conveyors, and related hydraulic, diesel, and electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable performance. Responsibilities include troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, welding and fabrication, and accurately documenting work. You'll collaborate with operators in a safety-focused, team-oriented culture that values innovation, sustainability, and long-term employee growth.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair dredge, pumps, conveyors, and related mechanical systems
• Perform preventive maintenance on hydraulic, diesel, and electrical components
• Respond to equipment breakdowns during swing shift to minimize downtime
• Interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders to complete repairs safely and accurately
• Perform basic welding and fabrication for parts repair and replacement
• Document maintenance activities and parts usage in logs or CMMSCollaborate with operators and supervisors to prioritize work and improve reliability

• Portland and regulatory safety procedures, including PPE and lockout/tagout
