Financial Advisor – North York & Scarborough (Bilingual: Mandarin/Cantonese/Farsi)
As an RBC Financial Advisor, you will attract, nurture, and grow relationships with high‑value personal and small business clients by providing proactive, professional advice and collaborating with RBC partners to help clients achieve their goals and navigate key life events.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate empathy, kindness, and take the time to understand clients’ circumstances, motivators, and concerns in all interactions.
- Communicate effectively to uncover client needs, deliver client‑centric advice, and proactively resolve client concerns at first point of contact.
- Use your own advice capabilities and those of the appropriate partners in the RBC ecosystem to meet clients’ entire suite of financial needs, both personal and business.
- Provide professional advice and education with the ability to address complex credit and investment matters, ensuring solutions are appropriate for clients’ needs and financial circumstances.
- Champion digital enablement by proactively educating clients to self‑serve, lead with advice, serve through digital where possible, and encourage clients to interact with RBC in their channel of choice.
- Make good use of technology to connect with clients both virtually and face‑to‑face.
- Implement effective contact and relationship‑building strategies that accelerate client acquisition and retention within your local community.
- Collaborate with market‑leading professionals in financial planning, retirement planning, mortgages, and business banking experts to ensure clients receive customized and relevant expert advice.
- Be fully available to work during RBC retail branch hours of operation, including extended hours Monday through Saturday until 8:00PM and Sunday as applicable.
- Valid Mutual Funds accreditation (Investment Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course).
- Completed Designated Financial Services Advisor (DFSA) designation offered through the Canadian Securities Institute.
- 1–2 years of proven sales experience in the financial services industry, handling credit and investments.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and maintain long‑term client relationships.
- Digital literacy across a broad range of devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.).
- Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Farsi.
- Nice‑to‑have: an active local community network that supports client acquisition and retention.
