Landry/French is actively seeking an experienced Project Superintendent with a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably Healthcare, specifically hospital systems. The position is responsible for the overall coordination, supervision, and execution of field operations on assigned commercial construction projects. This position leads larger, more complex projects and serves as the primary field leader responsible for managing day-to-day construction activities, subcontractor coordination, safety performance, quality control, schedule adherence, and project execution.
Working closely with Project Managers, Project Executives, project teams, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and clients, the Superintendent II ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within project objectives, and in accordance with contract documents and Company standards.
The Superintendent II is expected to work independently, manage increasingly complex construction activities and building systems, provide mentorship and guidance to Assistant Superintendents and less-experienced field personnel, and contribute to operational excellence throughout project execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES Field Operations Management- Provide overall project site coordination and supervision of day-to-day field activities.
- Direct and coordinate subcontractor activities to support project goals, schedules, and milestones.
- Develop and proactively manage three-week look-ahead schedules to ensure activities occur on or ahead of scheduled dates.
- Lead daily subcontractor coordination meetings and communicate project priorities, logistics, and execution plans.
- Monitor work progress and implement corrective actions to address field issues and schedule impacts.
- Generate Requests for Information (RFIs) as required.
- Coordinate procurement and timely delivery of equipment, tools, materials, and temporary facilities.
- Obtain and coordinate required inspections and regulatory approvals.
- Participate in preconstruction, progress, coordination, and project team meetings.
- Monitor project costs and support cost-conscious project execution.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional project site.
- Coordinate site logistics, material handling, storage areas, and temporary facilities.
- Lead field operations on larger, more complex, or higher-profile commercial construction projects.
- Coordinate complex project logistics, sequencing, phasing, and operational planning activities.
- Partner with project teams to identify and mitigate project risks.
- Evaluate construction means, methods, and sequencing to improve project outcomes.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to Assistant Superintendents and less experienced Superintendents.
- Support constructability reviews and preconstruction planning efforts.
- Assist in evaluating manpower loading, resource planning, and schedule recovery strategies.
- Serve as a subject matter resource regarding building systems, sequencing, and field operations.
- Champion the Company's safety culture and commitment to incident prevention.
- Ensure compliance with Company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project-specific safety requirements.
- Conduct routine jobsite safety observations and inspections.
- Identify and address unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Partner with Safety personnel to implement corrective actions and safety initiatives.
- Promote employee engagement in safety programs and safe work practices.
- Maintain OSHA 30 certification and support maintaining a safe project environment.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with project safety requirements.
- Investigate and report incidents, near misses, and jobsite safety concerns as required.
- Ensure all work performed by subcontractors and Company personnel meets contract requirements, project specifications, applicable codes, and Company quality standards.
- Monitor workmanship and construction quality throughout project execution.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, mockups, and quality control activities.
- Identify and resolve quality concerns in a timely manner.
- Review completed work and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Manage punch list activities and ensure timely completion.
- Support successful project turnover and closeout activities.
- Monitor project schedules and milestone achievement.
- Coordinate subcontractors, materials, inspections, and resources to maintain project schedules.
- Identify schedule risks, delays, and potential impacts.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to support on-time completion.
