To provide high-quality instruction and hands‑on training to students enrolled in the HVAC/R program. The Adjunct Instructor will help students build the technical knowledge and skills needed to pursue careers in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration industry while promoting safety, professionalism, and employability.
QUALIFICATIONS EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent.
CredentialsCurrent State of Oklahoma Mechanical Apprentice or Journeyman License required.
Special Knowledge, Skill or Ability- Strong working knowledge of HVAC/R systems including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with industry codes, safety practices, and regulations (IMC, NEC, EPA, etc.).
- Proficient in the use of HVAC diagnostic tools, meters, and equipment.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to effectively instruct and mentor students of diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
Minimum of 5 years of verifiable work experience in residential and/or commercial HVAC/R systems. Prior instructional, mentoring, or training experience is a plus. Experience with service calls, preventive maintenance, and customer service is a plus.
