Supports direct academic and behavioral instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings. Performs non-instructional, non-evaluative functions. Helps students master equipment/instructional materials assigned by the teacher. Provides classroom management functions, assists with playground/recess, lunch and bus duties as requested, and assists with supervision during emergency drills, assemblies and field trips. Provides escort and assistance to students as necessary.
Works cooperatively with coworkers and supervisors. Participates in in-service training programs as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising special education teacher, principal, or Director of Special Services.
