Job Summary
Position:
Technician – Right of Way Mapping (Property Office)
Salary: $22.08 – $30.89 per hour (Salary Schedule). Includes a 2.5% stipend.
Office/Bureau:
Project Development – Property Office.
Opening Date:
June 19, 2026 | Closing Date:
July 8, 2026.
- Research highway right of way and private boundary plans, deeds, layouts, and other pertinent town or state documents.
- Perform CADD drafting of moderately complex existing condition plans (right of way and property).
- Determine the property rights needed to complete final right of way mapping under guidance of senior employees and Professional Land Surveyors.
- Understand and calculate survey mathematics, draft plans in CADD, positively interact with project managers, senior property officers, legal staff, and meet project deadlines.
Minimum qualifications:
Candidates must provide evidence of at least one of the following combinations:
- Five (5) years of engineering experience.
- Associate degree in engineering or a related technical field and three (3) years of engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field and one (1) year of engineering experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with a background in boundary, survey, or comparable engineering fields.

State contributes equivalent of 14.11% of employee’s pay toward the Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS).
Benefits may vary slightly by collective bargaining agreements and are prorated for part‑time employees.
