Job Summary
The Process Engineer II will develop and optimize economical industrial processes to make the huge range of products on which modern society depends. This role provides sustaining engineering support to wet and mechanical cleaning operations, maintains process SOPs, and trains personnel. It also assists with new process development and continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities- Develops and maintains eRecipes, process work instructions, SOPs, etc. as necessary to support production workload.
- Develops/maintains/evaluates production tooling (fixtures, baskets, etc.) required for efficient, effective part processing.
- Monitors and maintains production equipment (tanks, pumps, heaters, etc.) and participates in equipment replacement/specification efforts as required.
- Ensures compliance with existing operating procedures and recommends revisions as appropriate.
- Monitors effectiveness of production processes and supports problem resolution related to technical evaluation of parts processed.
- Monitors compliance with the material specification database for process materials (chemistry, gases, blast media, etc.).
- Monitors/maintains process controls (pressures, temperatures, concentration, contamination, etc.) through SPC. Ensures process measurements fall within control limits and that overall process CPKs comply with divisional limits.
- Maintains/monitors work environments to ensure they are adequate for the tasks performed, preserve safe work practices, and meet housekeeping requirements.
- Develops/assists in developing training materials, examinations, agendas, and schedules required for personnel training/certification.
- Participates in customer audits, complaint resolution, cost analysis/time study as they relate to sales/marketing efforts.
- Participates in internal/external audits, CAPA resolution, defect/problem analysis, preventive action activities, etc.
- Participates in established committees as assigned (technical committee, safety committee, environmental committee, etc.).
- Supervises site monthly qualification cleanliness testing and process controls to ensure results fall within specification limits.
- Liaises with Engineering Manager or System Engineering Group to ensure effective procedures and BKMs are implemented at the sites.
- Assess processes for relevance and assess adequacy of engineering equipment.
- Review existing data (including lab analysis) to determine if further research is needed.
- Design, install, and commission new production units, monitor modifications and upgrades, and troubleshoot existing processes.
- Conduct process development experiments to scale in a laboratory environment as directed by the Director of R&D.
- Prepare reports, flow diagrams, and charts.
- Work closely with engineers to monitor and improve the efficiency, output, and safety of a plant.
- Ensure processes work at optimum level, rate, and quality to meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with specialists such as scientists, plant maintenance engineers, commercial colleagues, and operating crew on quality control and scheduling.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field with at least two years’ experience within the engineering function of semiconductor processing or systems manufacturing company.
- 0‑5+ years of related experience in high‑technology manufacturing, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry.
- Work may require the ability to lift 10‑20 pounds infrequently.
